APRESENTAÇÃO
"Welcome to join this workshop on challenge-based learning (CBL) for a half day session to explore how we may reshape our ideas on adult learning in higher education of the 21st century and beyond, re-thinking how the university is an innovative place of inspiration and co-creation of knowledge for societal improvement, and where students as change agents collaboratively with partners identify challenges, learn and shape for improvement.
We’ll work together to address some questions:
• Why do we need to re-design learning and teaching in higher education?
• What readiness to act does a graduate need for the future?
• What learning environments are living labs for testing critical thinking and critical doing?
• How do we re-think and include students as partners to improve quality in HE?
• How do we learn in a globally connected world?"

Cecilia Christersson
"Cecilia Christersson holds a vice rector position for Global Engagement and Challenge Based Learning at Malmö University, where she previously served as the prorector, with education, internationalization and quality development, in her portfolio. As a dentist, with a PhD and a specialist license in prosthetic dentistry, Cecilia is associate professor in Prosthetic Dentistry and Dental Materials Science. She was part of the academic team introducing problem-based learning (PBL) to the dental curriculum in the 1990s´and she served as the chair of the department of Technology and Dental Material Science at the Faculty of Odontology up to her prorector appointment. During 2012 - 2013 Cecilia was elected as the second female president for the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE). During her presidency special attention was given to the recognition of professional qualifications which enables the free movement of professionals within the EU.
In 2015 she led an international conference in Tanzania on behalf of SUHF, IUA, HEEFA, and SIDA – “Learning together for Change: advancing education for all through higher education”. This conference resulted in the “Arusha declaration on Higher education for All” which was handed over to UNESCO in preparation for the upcoming United Nation’s SDG framework. Overseeing the Malmö University´s agenda on global engagement she additionally serves as the chair of the national committee for refugee related issues in the Association of Higher Education Institutions in Sweden (SUHF) since 2016. Cecilia highlights especially the emphasis needed towards promoting changes of policies and regulations to improve access to HE for vulnerable groups such as academic refugees.
Last she held a special inquiry assignment for the Swedish Government on collaboration between Swedish Schools and Universities on practice-based research for enhancement of learning (SOU 2018:19). Since 2014 she is leading the development of challenge-based learning at Malmö university to promote research and education with innovative learning approaches for inclusive lifelong learning. During 2018 Cecilia chaired the European University Association (EUA) thematic peer group on Promoting Active Learning in European universities. Frequently Cecilia is requested to participate in national and international quality evaluations of higher education institutions.
Cecilia has received the Value Based Leadership Award of the International Beliefs and Values Institute (USA) and the Janne Carlsson Award for Academic Leadership of the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (Sweden). She embraces a wide international academic network with focus on value-based leadership and equity education for sustainable development. "
