Since the year 2010, the teachers of immunology at University of Alcalá have been promoting the interactive lecture system by delivering to our students on line instructive materials before class with the “just in time teaching” method (1). We used on line forms to assess reactions of the students to the instructive materials. We added gamification and immunology videos and we called this improved “JITT” method: flipped classroom with just in time (FC/JITT). With this combination of flipped methods we try to ensure that most of our students do precisely those things that the better learners do spontaneously. They study before class, answer preparatory questions, reflect on their understandings. In class, they practice, participate, ask their teacher, and answer formative assessment questions, (team based learning and peer instruction) discuss and explain to their peers. Finally, after class they review and prepare for formative assessment. Thanks to do these things week after week, the students understand better, learn more and thus obtain better grades.
